The live site uses HTTPS. Cloudflare documents encryption at rest for D1, which stores our activity and feedback records. Local browser drafts and downloaded backups do not have app-added encryption. ECH Transcript Studio does not have its own SOC 2 report or completed independent security audit. We do not offer a HIPAA-readiness, zero-retention, or US-only-processing guarantee. See Privacy for the limits and use a protected device.

When you start AI checking, transcript text and confirmed case terms pass through our server to OpenAI’s API. Recordings and personal review notes are not sent with that check. Full review drafts are saved in this browser. Our server-side activity history stores identifiers, dates, counts, and status—not transcript text or filenames. Remove a draft from Recent drafts to delete that browser recovery copy. Clearing site data deletes all local drafts, including unassigned older drafts and other accounts’ drafts in that browser profile; back up authorized work first. Separately delete downloaded files and copies on other devices if appropriate for your obligations. Removing a draft does not delete server activity, submitted feedback, emails, or provider records. Contact support about those records; the pilot has no automatic server-record deletion schedule or self-service account deletion.

Do not include names, transcript excerpts, recordings, or confidential screenshots. Personal My notes stay with the review; submitted feedback is sent to the ECH Transcript Studio team.

The invited self-service pilot is free; page-pack billing is not active. Planned launch pricing is 150 free pages for new users, then 300 pages for $20, 750 for $35, or 1,500 for $65. Corporate plans are arranged separately. Published plans are not an active checkout or unlimited-use promise.

Our introductory service combines AI text review with a person checking every AI finding. Standard pricing is $0.50 per page, $75 minimum, with 3–5-business-day turnaround, confirmed before intake. It is not full word-for-word audio scoping or certification. Contact us without attachments first so we can confirm scope, data suitability, price, and handling arrangements.

Proofreading accepts .txt or .ascii exports up to 2 MB and .scopeit.json review backups. Audio scoping accepts an ordinary ZIP package under 250 MB containing one RTF/CRE transcript and its full recording, with saved audio analysis if available. Separate RTF, recording and analysis files also work. Native CAT backups and PDF transcripts are not supported.

Choose Audio scoping → Open ZIP package. Select the ZIP in Downloads; do not unzip it first. Check the transcript and recording listed, then choose These are the same job—open. Saved analysis is reused without an API charge. Without analysis, only manual review is available. Save progress downloads a new ZIP including your review work and attached recording. Reopen that ZIP next time. Audio-scoping jobs are not yet autosaved to My transcripts. Keep these unencrypted packages secure. This ZIP is for ECH Transcript Studio, not Case CATalyst Restore.

Yes. Choose “Just looking? Try a sample” on the opening screen. The sample includes prepared findings and does not run a paid AI review. Sample practice does not create an automatically saved draft. Use Help & training for a short walkthrough.

You may use real transcripts when you are authorized to have them processed through ECH Transcript Studio and the providers in our Privacy policy. Do not submit sealed, privileged, HIPAA-regulated, or otherwise restricted content. Replacing names alone may leave identifying details. Having a transcript does not necessarily authorize sending it to an outside AI service.

No. Your original file on your computer stays unchanged. The corrected copy includes the suggestions you apply and any manual line edits you make. Pending or rejected suggestions do not change the download. Review the final copy before using it.

Corrections offer a specific text change for your decision. Verify highlights wording that needs audio or source confirmation, not a guessed replacement. Document checks flag issues such as names, captions, exhibits, or indexes to check against the source. Marking a check reviewed does not automatically fix the transcript or a CAT index.

The summary may offer “Accept all” for eligible corrections. This does not resolve verification passages or document checks, and it excludes certain uncertain, style-dependent, and manually edited items. Eligible does not mean guaranteed correct. Read the proposed changes before accepting; review the remaining checks separately.

Use Undo in the review workspace to reverse a recent action. “Show reviewed items” lets you inspect earlier decisions and reopen them. Undo history is limited to the current session and is not restored after reloading. Your saved decisions and notes can still be resumed. A separate “Undo accept all” control appears when a bulk action can be reversed.

No. When ECH Transcript Studio detects mixed punctuation before confirmation questions, it may offer to match the transcript’s predominant style or keep the wording as written. That choice applies only to that transcript. Review suggestions in context; court and agency requirements still take priority.

Add a note at a transcript location to remind yourself to check wording, consider a paragraph, or follow up in CAT. Notes do not change testimony and are not sent to the AI. They are included in local drafts, review backups, and the CAT follow-up checklist. They are separate from feedback you send to ECH Transcript Studio.

Yes. Proofreading provides local playback without automatically aligning findings. The separate experimental Audio scoping module uses saved word-timing analysis to suggest passage audio locations and speaker identities. Listen to verify them: text alignment is not acoustic verification. Files stay on your device; this workflow does not start a new transcription. Open a complete ZIP package to load the recording and saved analysis together.

No. AI can miss errors, suggest incorrect changes, or return different findings on repeated runs. A completed check means the stated processing finished, not that the transcript is error-free. ECH Transcript Studio is an additional review aid, not legal advice, certification, or a replacement for a qualified reporter or scopist.

Wait for “Draft saved on this device.” Reopen ECH Transcript Studio with the same signed-in account, browser, and device, then choose Resume under Recent drafts. These are browser recovery copies, not a cloud archive. Older drafts created before account association are kept but hidden; open a downloaded backup or contact support without sending transcript content. Clearing browser data, private browsing, storage limits, or using another device can make them unavailable. Download a review backup before leaving important work.

Use New transcript (or Stop & start new while checking). ECH Transcript Studio attempts to save the current draft before returning to the file chooser. A saved earlier review remains in Recent drafts. If saving fails, download a backup first. Choose Remove beside an old draft only when you intend to delete that browser copy.

Corrected transcript (TXT) is your edited text. Audit report (PDF) explains the findings. CAT follow-up checklist (TXT) collects unresolved checks and your notes; it is not a native CAT import. Review backup (.scopeit.json) reopens the review with decisions and notes. The backup is not a finished transcript and contains the original text; store it securely.

The text export retains original line and page breaks, but is not repaginated and does not update your native CAT project. Check wrapping, spacing, page references, and indexes in your reporting software after bringing changes back. The PDF is an audit report, not a certified transcript.

Open your browser’s Downloads list or your computer’s Downloads folder. If the browser blocked the file, allow the download and try again. Some PDF flows open the browser print dialog; choose Save as PDF. A “download started” message cannot confirm that the file was saved on your computer.

Keep the tab open while checking. You can stop, save a backup, and resume the remaining work when offered. Completed sections retained in the saved review are not sent again by that resume action. A new review is a new run. A partial summary is not a completed audit; check the progress and any incomplete-check warnings.
